Job description

Job duties include operating farm equipment to plant, irrigate, spray, harvest, transport crops to the storage area, and perform other farm tasks. Equipment and machinery that employees will operate includes but is not limited to tractors with various implements, irrigation equipment, sprayer, harvest equipment, backhoe, pick up truck with trailer, ATV, and eighteen wheeler with grain trailer. Duties also include manual labor such as repairing equipment when it breaks down; performing routine maintenance to identify problems before they escalate; performing maintenance on the farm land; irrigating farm soil with poly pipe and maintaining ditches or pipes and pumps; working with levee gates; operate and repair irrigation pivots; operate and service farm machinery and tools; clean equipment; laying poly pipe and maintaining it; and pivot repairs. Must have or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire; 3 months of experience; and basic English literacy, reading, and math skills. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.

Special Requirements

Drug screening and criminal background check may be done post hire at the employer's expense to ensure safety on and around the worksite and to the public when operating equipment on public roads. Employees must be able to lift 50 pounds as they will load poly pipe, fix flats, and perform shop work. Working outside in hot temperatures and humid weather. Employees will be sitting long hours while driving equipment and walking long distances when working poly pipe.
