Job description
Provide proper animal handling and care, ensure that all animals have access to feed and water, movement of animals to and from pastures during the grazing season, ensure proper irrigation and pasture rotation during growing and grazing season, monitor, and assist all cows throughout the last 60 days of gestation. Monitor, document and report changes in animals during gestation, prevention procedures to protect herd health, give injections to maintain health and control disease, maintain facilities that allow safe, humane and efficient movement of calves from hutches to pens, minimize stress and maintain a calm environment when transporting animals, hoof trimming and lameness evaluation, assist with feeding, birthing and care of newborns, isolating animals that need special attention due to health or lactation seasons, assisting with feed mixing, haul feed ingredients, sort cattle for sale, maintain low stress and high comfort environment, replaces filters, valves for water plumbing repair and maintenance to barn gates, feeders and waterers, equipment, machinery, fences and buildings. Driving pickup to obtain parts and supplies; May have to work nights, possibly weekends. Employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath; maintaining of worksite and equipment; also cleaning location and equipment; the rate of pay may be more depending on experience. Three (3) months experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain drivers license within 30 days following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply will result in immediate termination from employment.

The following is justification for the lifting requirements for our farming operation: Assisting with my farming operation includes lifting equipment as well as fencing supplies that weigh up to 75 pounds. The following is justification for the drug screening for our farming operation: Operating large farm tractors and equipment as well as operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs is dangerous. Operator manuals for the equipment have label warnings - Do Not Operate Under The Influence of Drugs. Work Comp Insurance, as well as vehicle insurance companies, require safety compliance. Poor judgement , Improper driving, ect. can result in serious and fatal accidents.
