Job description
Job includes operating large farm equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, irrigate, spray, harvest, and transport crops to the elevator or storage area. Equipment that employees will operate includes but is not limited to equipment with GPS guidance systems, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, and semi trucks. Semi trucks will only be used to transport the crops to the elevator or storage area. Job will require manual labor such as attaching implements to tractors; changing combine cutting heads; working with irrigation equipment such as pipe, pivots, and well motors; maintaining ditches and drainage paths to ensure proper water levels can be maintained in fields; cleaning and maintaining shop areas; washing equipment; performing maintenance on field equipment, farm structures, and other farm equipment; mechanical repair on farm equipment; using hand tools in fields when necessary; working with irrigation pipe by laying, poking holes, plugging holes, and picking it up; and performing house keeping and yard work duties around the shop and farmstead. Employees must have or be able to obtain a driver’s license within 30 days of hire; 3 months of experience; and basic English literacy, reading, and math skills. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.
Special Requirements
Employees may undergo drug testing post hire at the employers expense to ensure the safety of employees and others when employees are traveling on public roads. Employees must have or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire; 3 months of experience; and basic English literacy, reading, and math skills.
