Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Other duties include: Operating a forklift, lay irrigation pipe, install rice gates, keep shop & work area clean which includes sweeping floors and taking out trash, washing equipment, hauling fuel to tractors & irrigation motors, haul seed to planter, get parts, mix and load herbicides, chemicals & fertilizer using the Imperial math system, Mow grass, weed eat, help with burning fields. run chainsaw, leaf blower, pick up limbs and other general seasonal farm duties.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Must be able to operate guidance systems. Must be able to communicate fluently in English. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
