Job description
Job requires operating farm equipment including, but not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, grain carts, skid steers, backhoes, forklifts, ATVs, side by sides, mowers, forklifts, and combines to work ground and plant, fertilize, cultivate, irrigate, and harvest crops. Job also requires performing repair and maintenance on field, shop, and farm equipment; working with irrigation equipment such as irrigation pipe and well motors to ensure adequate water supplies to crops; maintaining irrigation ditches; performing water runoff maintenance; mowing and performing weed control on shop grounds; performing maintenance on farm buildings; operating chain saws; using hand tools in the fields to work ground, perform field maintenance, perform irrigation duties, and remove undesirable plants from fields; loading planters with seed; lifting chemical containers; working in and around grain bin facility; operating augers and other automatic grain moving equipment; loading grain into grain bins; shoveling grain; leveling grain. Daily duties may vary. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience or merit.
Special Requirements
Job requires having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Criminal background checks and drug screening may be possible post-hire at the employer's expense to ensure safety on and around the worksite as well as the safety of the public when operating machinery on public roads. Job duties will require working outdoors during the summer during which temperatures could exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Job duties will also require the workers to push, pull, sit, walk, stoop, bend over, or perform repetitive movements. Basic English literacy and math skills are required.
