Job description

Agricultural Equipment Operator is required to work with many different types of farm machinery for soil preparation, crop planting, harvesting and grain processing. Worker will required to drive and control farm equipment to till soil, seed/plant, fertilize, spray pesticides, cultivate and harvest small grain crops; and required maintain and make minor repairs on the equipment they operate. Mechanical skills and experience are required to drive a John Deere Green Star GPS and operate other farm equipment such as a Case air drill and scales in grain cart. The worker is also required to attach farm implements, such as plow, disc, sprayer, or harvester, to tractor, using bolts and mechanic's hand tools; load and unload grain truck manually or using conveyors, hand truck, forklift, or transfer auger; weigh grain-filled containers and record weights; and clean out grain bins. Minimal fencing will be required along with facility and grounds maintenance. To work as an agriculture equipment operator requires physical coordination, decision-making ability, mechanical aptitude and driving skills. The job entails working outdoors in all types of weather (extreme heat, cold, wind, dust, rain and snow). Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Worker is required to obtain a CDL license and pesticide license within 3 months.

Sunday - worker may be requested to work on Sunday but not obligated to do so. Ag Equipment Operator: Long/odd hours with split shifts required during harvest.
