Job description

Job requires the operation of farm equipment including, but not limited to, GPS auto steer equipment, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, backhoes, and semi-trucks to till soil and plant, irrigate, fertilize, cultivate, harvest and transport crops to grain bins or storage facility. Job will also requires workers performing mechanical repair and maintenance on field and irrigation equipment; working with irrigation equipment such as irrigation pipe and well motors; walking rows while puncturing irrigation pipe; using hand tools in fields to repair equipment and remove undesirable plants and objects from fields; cleaning and maintaining farm equipment, shop areas, and worksite locations; maintaining irrigation ditches; operating mowers and weed control equipment to maintain farm shop locations. Daily job duties may vary. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience or merit.

Special Requirements

Job requires worker having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Criminal background checks may be possible post hire at the employer's expense to ensure safety on and around the worksite and to the public. Employer will not employ any person that has been convicted of drug related crimes, any person that has been convicted of driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or any person that has been convicted of performing violent acts. Job duties will require workers to work outdoors during the summer when temperatures can exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Job duties will also require periods where workers will be pushing, pulling, walking, sitting, stooping, bending over, or performing repetitive movements. Basic English literacy and math skills are required.
