Job description
Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by the supervisor. Applicants must be 18 years or
older. Minimum of 3 months experience required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30-90
days of hire. Duties may vary from time to time. Workers will be required to operate farm implements
such as John Deere and Case tractors for purposes of tillage and planting during the spring planting
season. Workers will also be requested to operate custom application equipment as necessary for the
maintenance and prevention of weeds and insects to ensure quality and integrity of the crop. They will
also be required to operate implements such as Case and John Deere tractors with the necessary farm
implements (i.e., grain cart), as well as combines during the fall harvest season. Workers will also be
responsible for driving semi-trucks with hopper trailers for transporting grain to elevators, maneuvering
grain cart attachments, as well as basic knowledge of farm implement maintenance. During the summer
months, day-to-day responsibilities will include manual labor as required to install and maintain
irrigation systems (i.e. poly pipe, levee gates, etc.), miscellaneous duties in and around the shop,
including but not limited to small tool work, torch welding, machinery repair, and other daily
maintenance. Must be able to lift 75lbs. All tools, supplies and equipment will be provided at no
cost to the workers. General Specifications and Physical Requirements of the Job: The majority of the
workday is spent on ones feet and outdoors. Workers may stand in one place for any period of time.
Workers must be able to climb, stand, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from the waist), push, pull,
reach and lift. Work is performed in outdoor agricultural fields and involves exposure to sun, wind, rain,
soil, mud, dust, heat, cold and other natural elements. Worker must be able to withstand working in the
direct sunlight and weather conditions ranging from hot and humid weather, moderate rain and cold
while performing their required job duties. Workers should expect periods of little/no work during
growing time. Hours and days of work may vary due to weather conditions. Proper work attire is
required. No personal cell phone usage on the job. Cell phone use in the field should be limited to
contact with the supervisor and other employees as necessary to perform job duties. Due to possible
date of need changes, worker is required to purchase travel insurance if available. We will reimburse the
worker for transportation cost (including travel insurance) and subsistence to the employers work site
from the place of recruitment upon completion of 50 percent of the contract period. Transportation
payment will be no less (and is not required to be more) than the most economical and reasonable
common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved. A copy of the work contract or a copy
of the ETA 790 in lieu of a work contract, and any modifications, will be provided to the worker on the
day the work commences. If the employee is unable or unfit to perform the duties listed after the 14 day
pretrial, the employee will receive warnings, hours may be reduced to the minimum allowed in the
certified petition or terminated.
