Job description

As an Operations Specialist you work the day to day operations for both agronomy and grain. This is a hands-on position requiring you to work outside in all kinds of weather. You will help with loading and unloading of grain, agronomy, and some feed products. The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to; operating company owned trucks for transferring grain and fertilizer, assisting with the train loads going out, and agronomy train loads coming in, monitoring and maintaining grain quality, mixing and loading of liquid/dry fertilizer and chemical products, conducting and helping manage inventory, assisting with the operation of the scale to weigh products, and performing routine maintenance and repairs of equipment and vehicles. Day to day tasks are housekeeping and maintenance duties to keep our bins up and running, grain handling, loading and unloading grain on both trucks and trains; as well as tendering for applicators, loading and handling fertilizer, chemicals, and herbicide, filling anhydrous tanks, and working closely with agronomy. Employees will be required to operate single or double axel trucks, forklifts, scale operations, augers and front-end loaders and application equipment as well as sweep and clean out grain bins. Safety is always our number one priority and we do everything we can to ensure the safest work environments for our employees, but there are some hazards involved with working in a grain and agronomy facility. These hazards include exposure to fertilizers and chemicals, grain dust, electrical, fall, and trip hazards, and grain engulfment and entanglement. The Operations Specialist position rewards employees who pay attention to details, take initiative and work hard every single day to ensure that our customers are treated well, and our facilities stay in good condition.

Special Requirements

Must be able to climb to heights of up to 200ft. Physically, this position requires you to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and crawl on a regular basis. This position requires you to climb ladders and ride the man-lift. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and occasionally 100 pounds. Must have a class B CDL or appropriate drivers license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire. Employer will conduct post-hire and random drug testing at employer's expense. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Must be proficient in English with excellent written and oral communication, basic computer skills. exposed to grain dust, chemicals, fertilizers and extreme outdoor temperatures. Require a flexible schedule with more hours during harvest and planting seasons. Require a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 months experience.
