Job description
Raises honeybees (Apis Mellifera) to produce honey and maintain colony health through feed/supplements; find and cage queens, install queen cells; assembles beehives, inserts honeycomb of bees into hives; forces bees from hives; selects harvested honeycombs and moves approx 75 pounds of honey from honeycombs; physically lifting 75 pound boxes of honey for transport; transporting bee boxes from hives to storage facility; driving farm vehicle to obtain supplies, honey extracting equipment, and misc. tools used to work with honey bees; cutting lumber and assembling, treating, and painting bee hive woodenware such as bee hive lids, hive pallets, honeycomb frames, supers, and storage pallets; minor vehicle repair and maintenance, daily and incidental upkeep to equipment, worksite, and colony boxes.
