Agricultural Equipment Operator

Job description

Employees will also need to assist with our own farming operation where plant, harvest, irrigate and haul our own organic crops including blue, yellow, white and organic popcorn and organic soybeans, hay and alfalfa. Employees will need to assist with all aspects of harvesting these crops. Employees will need to be punctual, detail orientated, self-starters, and work well with others. They will need to have mechanical knowledge and be able to operate modern late model tractors equipped with precision farming technology that will be attached with cultivators and other tillage equipment. Employees will also need to be able to perform daily maintenance on equipment such as greasing and checking/changing oil. Other skills such as welding and general shop maintenance skills would be beneficial. Must be able to assist with irrigation systems and irrigation system maintenance. All these farming duties occur on our own farm.

We also do custom combining and need seasonal employees to assist with custom combining of corn and soybeans for our client as listed on the itinerary. During those periods employees will need to operate combines to harvest the crops for the client.

Special Requirements

Job requires extensive sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, frequent stooping, repetitive movements, and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. We conduct post-hire criminal background checks and post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee. We conduct post-hire drug testing to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Employer will not hire anyone with a violent/theft criminal background. Must have a regular drivers license and must be able to obtain a class A CDL or equivalent within 30 days of hire to transport our crops by truck to local markets or farm storage.
