Ag Equipment Operator

Job description

Duties include operating farm equipment, such as tractors, tractor-drawn machinery to plow, harrow, fertilize soil, seed, and apply pesticides and herbicides to fertilized crops. Required to operate harvesting equipment, such as combines, grain carts, and tender trucks to harvest and haul grains, soy beans, corn, sunflowers, and canola.

List of Equipment: JD tractors, seeders, sprayers, combines, and tillage equipment. Must show proficiency in operating equipment. Must be able to drive semi-tractors. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives.

Crops: Beans, Canola, Corn, Grain, Soy Beans, Sunflower, Wheat

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pound. Workers will be exposed to extreme heat and cold, dust, rain, and other environmental conditions common in crops and fields. The job entails working with farm machinery outdoors in all types of weather and occasional exposure to poisonous insects and snakes. Work includes repetitive movements, extensive pushing and pulling, extensive sitting, extensive walking, and frequent stooping. Must be able to obtain a driver's license with a clean record within 30 days following hire. Minimum of (3) months experience required. No minimum education required.
