Job description
Performs duties like: check characteristics and general condition of livestock, apply appropriate care, examineanimals to detect illness/injury, assist in delivery and night calving, apply or administer medication/vaccinations,mix feed/additives and feed/water; place mineral blocks, drive equipment, herd livestock to various pastures, ride horse or 4-wheeler to move cows; confine livestock in stalls, clean/disinfect livestock corrals/stalls/sheds, dock, castrate, brand, clip/tag and clamp livestock. Operate equipment for planting and harvesting hay; make hay, hoist/stack hay bales onto wagon/truck, repair, replace, and build barbed-wire fence, mow and spray formaintenance of cattle pastures, perform cleanup, and drive, load/unload pickup/ cattle trailers and/or semi trucks (on the ranch only). The job entails working with animals and occasional exposure to herding hazards, such as cattle stampedes, bucking horses, snakes and predators.

Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Frequent stooping is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
