Job description

Job requires operating GPS tractors, sprayers, grain carts and other farm equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, irrigate, fertilize, and harvest crops; driving semi-trucks to transport grain to elevator or storage area; operating equipment for field maintenance; and operating equipment for upkeep of the shop grounds such as mowers and weed eaters. Manual labor in the form of loading planters, laying irrigation pipe, walking and puncturing the irrigation piping as required, performing maintenance on irrigation equipment such as pivots and irrigation motors, sweeping and upkeep of farm shop areas, using hand tools in the fields to chop weeds, performing miscellaneous maintenance and repair, and performing upkeep of areas around wells. Applicant must have, or be able to obtain, a driver’s license. 3 months of experience are required along with basic literacy and math skills. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.

Special Requirements

Applicant must have, or be able to obtain, a driver's license. Job will require lifting weights up to 100 lbs. Extensive pushing and pulling could occur while repairing equipment. Extensive sitting or walking will occur when laying irrigation and operating tractors and semi-trucks while planting and harvesting. Frequent stooping and bending over may occur when laying irrigation piping and using hand tools in the fields. Repetitive movements may occur while doing miscellaneous farm work. Exposure to extreme temperatures will happen when working for extensive periods of time outside in the MS summer weather.
