Farm Worker

Job description

Job duties include the operation of farm equipment including tractors with various implements, combines, seed tenders, and other large field equipment to prepare and work land and plant, irrigate, spray, cultivate and harvest crops. Job requires working with irrigation equipment; laying irrigation pipe in fields; puncturing irrigation pipe using hand tools; installing fittings used for irrigation pipe and equipment; using hand tools in fields; maintaining shop yard by mowing, weed eating, and performing other maintenance duties; performing weed management in fields and around shop areas; performing maintenance on wells; loading planters; attaching various implements to tractors; performing mechanical repair and maintenance on field equipment.

Job requires operating custom harvesting machines to harvest a variety of grain crops, changing cutting head as appropriate for crop & service machinery, driving trucks to transport equipment & product to storage area, and performing general manual labor while .

All duties pertaining to the planting, irrigation, and cultivating of crops for the employer's row crop operation will only be performed on the employer's worksite. Only duties related to custom harvesting will be performed at locations other than the farm operated and controlled by the employer. Custom harvesting duties will be performed at the locations and for the durations listed in Addendum B.

Daily duties may vary depending on weather and crop conditions. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.

Special Requirements

Job requires lifting weights of up to 100 lbs. Job will require exposure to outdoor conditions during the summer months, pushing, pulling, sitting and walking for extensive periods, stooping, and performing repetitive movements. Workers must either have, or be able to obtain, a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy and math skills are required.
