Job description
Must be able to work outdoors in dusty and dirty conditions, in extremes of heat and cold, and in inclement weather. Must be able to crouch, bend, and sit on the ground, reach and lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds, must be able to balance and carry 40 lbs up and down ladders. Must be able to listen to, understand, and follow simple instructions of field operations leaders and supervisors. This job requires three months (or 480 hours) of verifiable prior experience. Employer will comply with re-entry restrictions applicable to pesticides and other chemicals used in the fields. A designated lead worker or company supervisor will provide instructions and general supervision. Technical horticultural activities will be closely supervised. However, workers will be expected to perform their general duties in a timely and proficient manner without close supervision. Workers may not report for work while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The possession or use of illegal drugs or alcohol (exception is made for moderate alcohol consumption in company housing during non-working hours) on company property is prohibited and will be cause for termination. The employer at no cost will provide any tools or equipment necessary to perform required tasks to the worker. Tasks will be related to the planting, growing, cultivating, weeding, spraying, irrigating, fertilizing, pruning, harvesting, transporting, sorting, and packaging diverse vegetables and fruit crops. These crops may include but are not limited to the following: cucumbers, sweet corn, tomatoes, squash, eggplant, peppers, green beans, peas, okra, peaches,apricots, nectarines, cherries, pears, plums, apples, strawberries,raspberries, blackberries, pumpkins and specialty vegetables. Workers may be required to do any other manual task involved in the production of fruit and vegetable crops. All work must be performed carefully according to instruction to avoid damage to fruit and vegetable crops. Smoking and the use of tobacco products prohibited during working time. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic device during working hours strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination. Use/handle ladders up to 20 ft. in length and weighing up to 60 lbs. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. to shoulder height repetitively throughout the workday. The use or possession or being under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol during working time is prohibited. Workers may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. Workers may be required to perform work that is incidental to farming the crops listed in the application. All other duties, if any assigned, will be those duties of Farm Worker, Diversified Crops, DOT code 407.687-010 (SOC (ONET/OES) code 45-2092.02). The worker agrees to be available for work and performed assigned tasks whenever work is available through the full anticipated period of employment.
May deliver fruits and vegetables produced on the farm (in its un-manufactured state) to storage or to market or to a carrier for transportation to market. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray, related chemicals, etc. may affect workers ability to perform the job. Workers will be expected to be able to operate agricultural equipment with or without direction. Applicants must be able to furnish verbal or written statement establishing relevant prior work experience. Successful applicants will be subject to a trial period of up to five days during which their performance of required tasks will be evaluated. If the performance during the trial period is not acceptable to the employer the workers employment will be terminated. Workers will work loading trucks with bale

Special Requirements
This job requires a minimum of 3 months of agricultural experience working in a greenhouse, vegetable and/or fruit farm handling both manual and mechanized tasks. Workers must be able to perform manual and mechanized tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Saturday work required. Must be able to lift/carry 75 lbs.
