Job description
Job duties include operating large farm equipment to till soil; haul grain; haul bulk, liquid fertilizer; and haul chemical trailers. Equipment that employees will operate includes semi-trucks with grain hopper trailers, semi-trucks with tankers, semi trucks with flat bed trailers, zero turn mowers/bush hogs, and tractors with various implements including, but not limited to, chisel plows/turbo till implements. Employees will be mowing/bush hogging around fields, tending to sprayers, and servicing and maintaining grain storage facilities. Duties will also include manual labor such as sweeping in and around grain bins, climbing ladders in the grain bin facility, opening grain hopper trailers, washing various equipment, basic shop maintenance/cleaning etc. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.
Special Requirements
Job requires having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy and math skills are required. Drug screening and criminal background check may be done post hire at the employer's expense to ensure safety on and around the worksite. employees must be able to lift 50 pounds since they will be lifting bags of seed/loading chemical trailers. Employees will be sitting for long periods of time in equipment and bin maintenance may require stooping/sweeping.
