Job description

HORTICULTURAL/ SOD FARM

Workers may apply seeds to fields, by hand or equipment.
Workers may clean and prepare fields for planting.
Workers may water and apply fertilizers, as needed.
Workers may cultivate fields, by hand or equipment.
Workers may clip or mow sod fields.
Workers may lay/plant processed sod.
Workers may cut, roll, stack, and prepare sod for shipping.
Workers may roll sod and load and unload trucks.
Workers may work fields to prepare for next crop.
Workers may clean work area for next days work.

Other Related Duties:
Workers may chop weeds from between plants with a hoe.
Workers may remove tops and suckers from plants and apply fertilizers.

Special Requirements

Workers will begin at an assigned time, 7:00 am and continue until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. If work is available beyond normal workdays the employer may offer, but not require, the worker the opportunity to work additional hours. Workers are not required to work the Sabbath Day or Federal Holidays. Worker may be required to work in the fields when they are wet with dew or rain and should have suitable clothing for conditions including light rain and temperatures ranging from 60 degrees to more than 100 degrees. May be heavy lifting from 60-80 lbs. workers should be able to bend, stoop and stand for extended periods of time.
.Workers will be trained for two days (16 Hours) after which the worker will be expected to perform all listed job duties in a effective manner. 3 months sod farming experience required. All job duties apply,
