Job description

All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in this job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in boxes 3 & 4 on page 1. Workers are needed to plant, maintain and harvest multiple vegetable crops, greenhouse tomatoes, and strawberries. Workers must have previous commercial experience and ability to perform various tasks required in greenhouse tomato production, including: harvesting, grading, suckering, clipping and thinning. Workers must have previous commercial experience and ability to perform various tasks required in sweet potato production, including: planting slips from a tractor into plastic mulch, and harvesting by hand. Workers will perform field work including: planting, transplanting, weeding, thinning, hoeing and other tasks required in the planting, maintenance, and harvest of various vegetable and berry crops. Workers will sort, wash, pack and otherwise prepare various crops for storage and shipping, as well as transport and deliver various crops from field to farm buildings. Workers will load and unload farm vehicles, setup and operate various types of irrigation equipment, and cut vegetation or brush from in and around fields, buildings and equipment. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather conditions. Beginning and ending times each day and the number of hours per day will vary depending on weather and crop conditions. Workers must be able to take direction in simple English. After hiring, the employer may conduct random drug testing at the employers expense.
