Farmworker/laborer

Job description

Workers are expected to help with farm maintenance in early Spring through Fall. Farm duties will include
operating farm equipment, prepping livestock feed, milking and feeding cows.

Workers are to perform multiple job functions at peak demand periods. The ability to be trained in equipment
safety operation, routine maintenance and to assist mechanics with repairs is required. Workers will operate farm
equipment such as tractors, small disc, mower, forklift, small dirt loader, skid steer, and trans load piler and various
types of crop handling equipment. Workers will need to assist with maintaining equipment used in agricultural
production and field preparation. Drive vehicles to prepare, haul and transport feed, supplies, farmworkers, and
tools.

In addition, workers throughout the peak growing season are required to perform regular farm related job functions
relating to caring for livestock; this requires the use of heavy equipment specified above for handling bulk crops to
mix feed rations according to specified formulations, load and transport feed as needed. Farm Hand: Workers will
perform any combination of the following farm duties include assist with feeding livestock on a daily basis, check
water, provide bedding, clean and prepare cows for milking, milk cows, check cattle for illnesses and treat as
necessary, vaccinate cattle, prepare mix and distribute feed, operate heavy equipment to load, transport, feed, mix
proper amount of ingredients of feed.

Workers are expected to follow all applicable safety procedures, perform other duties as assigned by the
supervisor or management, maintain a clean work area, and be able to work alone or in a team environment.

4e) Must be able to lift and/or load 60lbs.
4g) Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
4h) May require extensive pulling and/or pushing of tools, wheel barrows, containers, etc.
4i) May require worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time while sorting, picking, examining, feeding transporting, etc.
4j) Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over while performing farm labor such as cleaning pens, cleaning troughs, feeding
claves, removing debris, etc.
4k) There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the farm labor duties, for example picking, cleaning, feeding, shoveling, etc.
