Ag Equipment Operator

Job description

Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Terminating ground cover crops and prepare land for next crop. Maintain & Maintenance of irrigation system.

Equipment: Combines, planters, self-propelled sprayers, tractors, truck & trailers, fork lift, raking equipment, threshers, loading machines, dryers, balers, Hand tools and power tools, welder, air tanks, fuel tanks, irrigation system, storage bins

Crops: Alfalfa, Canola, Grain, Oats, Soy Beans, Sunflower, Wheat, Winter Wheat.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Employees will work very long hours because we do not know when it will be raining or too wet. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting and walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
