Job description

Job requires the operation of tractors with various implements, semi-trucks, backhoes, excavators, semi-trucks, and other large farm equipment to till soil and prepare land and plant, cultivate, irrigate, spray, harvest, and transport crops. Job will also require working with irrigation piping and motors; laying irrigation pipe in fields; puncturing irrigation piping at set intervals; maintaining adequate water levels in fields; servicing engines and equipment; washing equipment; building, constructing and maintaining levees, installing and removing levy gates and putting in spillways; draining excess water from fields; using hand tools in the fields to repair equipment and remove weeds and plants; hauling grain from fields to grain bins; loading and unloading grain into trucks while keeping grain level; operating augers and other grain moving equipment around the grain bin facility; monitoring moisture levels of grain stored in bins to ensure compliance with moisture and grade standards; leveling grain with shovels; sweeping grain; ensuring that operational areas are organized and well maintained; performing housekeeping duties in farm shop and work areas. Daily duties may vary. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.

Special Requirements

Job requires having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire and being capable of lifting 50 lbs. The job will require working outdoors in summer and winter temperatures that can be greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit and can be below freezing. Job duties will require sitting, walking, stooping, bending, and performing repetitive movements.
