Job description

Job duties include operating farm equipment to till soil and plant, spray, irrigate, cultivate, transport, and harvest crops. Employees will operate tractors with GPS, sprayers, planters, and semi-trucks to perform many field duties. Workers will also perform duties involving grain bins. These duties include receiving grain at elevator, preparing scale tickets, monitoring to ensure compliance with moisture and grade standards, transferring grain to proper storage location, shipping grain from elevator as required, transferring grain from storage bins to truck bins prior to shipment, shoveling grain to remove grain that cannot be removed by automatic conveyor equipment, performing housekeeping duties to ensure that storage locations are properly maintained, and climbing vertical grain leg. Semi-trucks will be used to transport grain from fields to storage or market locations. Duties will also include manual labor such as laying poly-pipe, using hand tools in the fields, mowing, edging, cleaning, and washing equipment. Must be able to perform mechanical repair and maintenance on farm equipment, have 3 months of experience, and have basic English literacy and math skills. Must have or be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.

Special Requirements

Employees will be lifting poly pipe rolls so they must be able to lift at least 75 pounds. Extensive sitting or walking applies when employees are in tractors and walking behind poly pipe machine. Work will require employees to be outdoor during summer months during which the temperature can reach upwards of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Moderate cell phone use is allowed at the worksite.
