Job description
Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, spray, fertilize, cultivate, harvest and store crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain and potatoes. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. Vacuum grain crops out of bins. Keep work areas clean. Run skid steer. Ship and grade potatoes. Cut and treat potatoes. Clean fields by cutting back trees on field borders. Clean warehouse, trucks, farm vehicles, tractors, etc with pressure washer. Drive water truck to field. Bin piling potatoes. Perform fall fertilizing with tractor spreader. General lubrication, service (Check fluids) and incidental repair to farm machinery. Drive semi-trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area.
Equipment: 2 Large 4 wheel JD tractor- GPS4 - JD Front wheel assist row tractors, 2 combines, pull type 100' sprayers, semi trucks, trailers, 18 wheeler. pickups
Crops: Corn, Oats, Potatoes, Soy Beans, Wheat
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
