Job description
Foaling mares from mid-February through May, bring foals home taking care of them, treating for illness, taking them out and in, teaching them how to be domesticated, and breeding mares Feb 15 - April 30. and sales prep March through September - hand-walk yearlings, groom, turn them out in evening, clean stalls.
TOOLS: Any required tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided at no charge
HOURS VARY: M-S 6:00 - 3:00pm. Saturdays required.
OVERTIME: Overtime hours may be offered.
ADDITIONAL HOURS: Additional, non-compulsory work may be offered, including on holidays.
WORKERS COMPENSATION: Employer guarantees to maintain coverage throughout the entire contract period. Workers must notify immediate foreman and/or supervisor in case of injury within 30 days. Workers Compensation is free of charge to employee.
COVID: Employer will comply with the most restrictive Covid-19 regulations including local, state and federal guidelines. A CDC-approved COVID Vaccine is required for workers staying in employer-provided housing ONLY. Workers staying in close quarters are susceptible to cross-contamination risk.
HOUSING: Provided at no charge to worker.
MEALS: Workers will prepare their own meals. Employer will provide weekly runs to store each week.
TRANSPORTATION: Employer will provide transportation to all worksite locations.
Special Requirements
At least one year of experience required in the care of thoroughbreds alone.
Workers are provided a two-day break-in period to acclimate to the demands of the job.
Workers must be physically fit to perform job duties without succumbing to excessive exhaustion after break-in period.
Workers will be provided safety training and will be expected to handle tools/equipment safely and carefully so as to avoid crop damage and to protect the worker from potential injury.

Must tolerate extreme temperatures.
Must report to work sober. May be subjected to and must pass random, post-employment, employer-paid drug test. Workers under the influence of drugs or alcohol pose a safety threat to themselves and other workers and cause liability for the employer.
Employer shall comply with all federal, state and local safety requirements.
