Temporary Seasonal Position: Farm Worker | SOC Code: 45-2093

Possible shift: 7:00AM-5:00PM. 50+ May be possibility of weekend work. Crops: Animal Husbandry, Hay/Grain. Duties may include: Operate farm equipment, maintain farm equipment, care for and process livestock, feeding, watering, herding, grazing, branding, weighing, and loading livestock. Maintain records on animals, examine animals to detect diseases and injuries. Maintain fences and farm structures, turn compost piles, load soil, operate fire box, mow and cultivate fields. Working knowledge of basic hand tools. Ability to operate composting equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Assist in birth deliveries, administer medications, vaccinations and insecticides as appropriate. Monitor and maintain health of livestock, irrigation of crop fields which involves maintaining and building current or prospective irrigation systems, clearing and preparing fields for crops & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org). On-the-job training provided. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. Tools supplies and equipment provided at no cost to worker. Employer guarantees 3/4 of contract. Work outdoors, exposed to weather, hot or cold; hours may vary (+/-); possible downtimes and/or extended hours. Dependable: fulfill obligations. Attn. to detail: complete work tasks. Employer provided housing available to those who cannot reasonably return to their residence within the same day. No cell phone use during work hours.
