Job description

Mix and apply organic weed control and fertilizers to turf, landscape beds, trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials. Perform core aeration using a machine that pulls plugs from the soil. Load truck with equipment and supplies for scheduled daily projects. Clean up and maintenance of equipment used on a daily basis. Work in all weather conditions. Frequent Walking; standing; pulling; bending; pushing; grasping; lifting; carrying; twisting throughout the day. Must be able to lift 50lbs.The Lawn Care Technician will perform organic weed control and fertilization applications as well as other plant health care services. 
 
These include the following:
 
1. Core aeration – driving a machine over lawns which pulls small plugs from the soil. 
2. Fertilization applications – pushing a broadcast spreader and applying organic fertilizers and organic soil conditioner applications over lawns. 
3. Organic weed control treatments – using a 200 gallon spray tank with a 400 ft long hose the applicator evenly applies a liquid organic weed control application over lawns. 
4. Backpack weed control applications – the technician uses a backpack sprayer to spot spray weeds that are growing in rock and mulch beds using an organic weed killer made from orange and lemon peel oil.
5. Compost top dressing applications – the technician uses a special machine to apply an organic compost over lawns to improve soil health.
6. Sprinkler blowouts – the technicians uses an air compressor machine to blow the water out of sprinkler lines in preparation for winter. 
7. Deep root tree fertilizer applications – the technicians uses a spray tank and 400 ft long hose to inject a liquid organic fertilizer application into the soil for tree health.
8. Sprinkler audits – the technician will learn how to adjust sprinkler heads and program sprinkler clocks to properly water lawns.
9. Small engine maintenance – the technician will assist in changing oil, spark plugs, etc. to properly maintain small engines and equipment. This will only be performed on the company equipment and we do not offer this as a service to the general public.

Special Requirements

Work in all weather conditions. Frequent Walking; standing; pulling; bending; pushing; grasping; lifting; carrying; twisting throughout the day. Must be able to lift 50lbs. All tools/supplies req'd, provided at no cost. Saturday work required, when necessary. Travel to project locations within Broomfield, Larimer, Weld, Jefferson, and Boulder counties of Colorado.
