Job description
Job duties include the operation of various farm equipment to till soil, plant, irrigate, harvest, and grain hauling from field to storage and storage to elevator. Employee will also perform equipment repair; maintenance and upkeep (washing, detail interior/exterior, etc.; irrigation duties including, but not limited to, pump motor repair and maintenance, poly pipe laying, hole punching and removal, rice levee building, spraying and maintenance, levee gate installation, maintenance, and removal; farm maintenance including, but not limited to, tree limb and brush removal, ditch cleaning, field drainage, field leveling, and sloping; grain bin loading, unloading, repair, and maintenance; and repair and maintenance in and around the shop and office. Equipment that employees will operate includes tractors of all sizes with implements including planters, drills, ditchers, disks, land planes (floats), bedders/fir makers, levee plows, levee gate-a-minute, mowers, dirt pans, grain carts, poly pipe roller, combines with flex, corn and stripper headers, semi's with hopper bottom or equipment hauling trailers, grain handling augers and belts, various small tools including welders, power tools, and power washers, etc. Duties also includes manual labor such as lifting 60-100 lbs objects (seed bags, chemical boxes, parts, etc); shoveling; sweeping; power washing; detailing; installing and removing irrigation equipment, including but not limited to, levee gates, pipe and pipe fittings, power units, drainage title, etc.; climbing grain bins and other equipment; chemical mixing; equipment repair and maintenance with heavy parts; track maintenance including removal of debris; and hand spraying chemicals. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. Pay increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.
Special Requirements
Job requires having or being able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy and math skills are required. Southeast Missouri weather can fluctuate from hot and humid to cold, sometimes within hours which employees will be subject to working outdoors. Employees will perform a variety of tasks which require the employee to be physically fit enough to perform the manual labor needed. These tasks are usually temporary. Criminal background check may be done post hire at the employer's expense to ensure safety on and around the worksite and to fellow workers. Equipment operation is dependent upon experience and willingness to learn.
