Job description

The job specifications involve skilled farm labor for the purpose of preparing and performing duties of potato seed receiving, potato planting and potato harvesting. Duties will include washing and disinfecting the potato warehouses where seed potatoes are stored. Conducting equipment maintenance on potato seed receiving equipment. Unloading and storing the potato seed. Ensuring seed variety barriers are installed to keep seed varieties separate. Installing air ducts to keep potato seed at the proper temperature. Installing equipment to be used for potato harvest. Conducting maintenance and preparing potato equipment and harvesters for harvest. Operating the potato piler during harvest. Operating a bobcat for moving potatoes. Performing general maintenance and welding as needed on potato equipment. General farm work is included.

Full time supervision is provided and all tools are provided at no cost. Workers must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and work in extreme temperatures. Lifting objects up to 50 lbs., bending, twisting, and stooping regularly will be required.

Special Requirements

3 months experience performing maintenance on agriculture related equipment. 3 months experience operating a Bobcat.
