Production Associate I

Job description

HyLife Foods Windom, LLC seeks temporary Production Associates I in Windom, MN. This role makes up the majority of workers on the kill floor, cut floor, yards and packaging departments of our integrated pork production operation. The duties include:

• Receive hogs from delivery truck and sort in holding pens;
• Prepare hogs for production floor;
• Facilitate slaughter and evisceration operations;
• Process to meet customer specifications and follow direction from supervisor in regards to product specifications (fat, trim, etc.);
• Inspect, wrap, weigh and label processed items for shipment; and
• Communicate with production team, trainers, supervisors, and all other levels of management.

*This specific job opportunity is for work on our new ham and jowl lines, which includes processing pork to meet customer specifications and following directions from the supervisor in regards to product specifications.

Special Requirements

There are no minimum education, training or experience requirements for this position. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must have the ability to: perform job duties; follow written and verbal instruction from supervisor(s); perform basic physical maneuvers, some of which are repetitive (bend, twist, grasp, lift, grab, cut); stand/work for periods of up to 10 hours, and lift up 30 pounds consistently, up to 75 pounds occasionally; work in hot and cold environments (exceeding 100 degrees, as low as 20 degrees); and perform basic knife skills (if required). We also require passing a beginning of employment drug test and physical assessment. The temporary Production Associates I will work Monday through Friday either AM Shift (6:30am -3:00pm) or PM Shift (3:30pm-12:00am) May be required to work occasional Saturdays. Overtime may be available (not guaranteed). NOTE: HyLife Windom requires passing a beginning of employment drug test and physical assessment to ensure that all employees have the essential job related abilities to perform the required duties of the position, without the interference of drugs. The drug test and physical assessment are: (a) normal as they apply to all similarly situated employees in the company at this location; (b) not less favorable to any group of workers because HyLife Windom requires these tests/physical assessments for all Production Associates I, regardless of employment or immigration status; and (c) are not less than the minimum terms and conditions required by regulation as the program meets those requirements outlined under 20 C.F.R. 655.22(a).
