Job description
- Keeping daily records of materials and inventory being used on work site, using forms provided by company
- Identifying & cordoning off work areas to prevent entry by unauthorized persons
- Maintaining a tidy & safe work area
- Learning & implementing safety practices on equipment and tools at the work site
- Reading and understanding work site instructions and specifications (which may be provided in English and/or Spanish)
- Loading, unloading, identifying building materials, machinery, or tools: distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications
- Having knowledge of construction tools
- Digging ditches (by hand) for underground drainage, using tools such as picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers
- Perform maintenance and upkeep of work site equipment, including generator, compressor, and pneumatic tools
- Carry, move, and set up ladders (up to 60' in length), walk boards and scaffolding, set up and disassemble trash chutes
- Knowledge of the following tools/equipment: soldering tools, levels, power grinder, circular and reciprocating saws, vacuum cleaners
- Provide assistance to skilled construction laborer
