Agricultural Equipment Operator

Job description

We operate a farm in NW Kansas, we grow wheat, corn, sunflowers and sorghum, we have dry land and irrigated land requiring daily checking of the center pivots. We operate all types of farm machinery, including tractors for pulling plows, planters, and grain carts, we utilize sprayers used for applying chemical and fertilizer in growing crops. Much of the grain is stored in grain bins to be hauled to market after harvest.

Need to be able to operate farm tractors for plowing and planting and run a grain cart at harvest time. Basic knowledge of operating a tractor is needed. We use semi- trucks to do everything from hauling fertilizer to the field at planting time, to trucking the grain out of the field at harvest time to grain bins or the local storage. Must have combine experience since employee could also operate a combine at harvest time. Complete general maintenance around the farm on machinery. May be required to operate a sprayer.

Special Requirements

Employer will conduct post-hire random drug tests to enforce a drug free workplace policy at no cost to the employee. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Must have a CDL or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire. Require 3 months experience.
