Job description
Service, clean, or supply restrooms. Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Gather and empty trash. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Steam-clean or shampoo carpets. Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or with hand trucks. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels, or spread snow-melting chemicals. Move and remove guest belongings. Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours or checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware or metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, or power cleaning equipment. Mow or trim lawns or shrubbery, using mowers or hand or power trimmers, and clear debris from grounds. Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings. Make adjustments or minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, or electrical systems. Drive trucks or other vehicles to or at work sites. Remove snow. Clean facilities or sites. Monitor building premises to ensure occupant or visitor safety. Clean building walls or flooring. Prepare chemicals for work application. Dispose of trash or waste materials. Clean equipment or supplies. Clean furniture or fixtures. Confer with coworkers to coordinate maintenance or cleaning activities. Select equipment, materials, or supplies for cleaning or maintenance activities. Operate grounds maintenance equipment. Remove debris from work sites. Trim trees or other vegetation. Move furniture. Decorate indoor or outdoor spaces. Maintain equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning. Treat facilities to eliminate pests.
Special Requirements
The days and hours of work will vary depending on scheduling and the level of business and based on room rentals the prior night but will generally be 6 days per week with rotating days off. The business is open 7 days per week, Friday-Thursday (including Saturday and Sunday). Examples of daily work schedules include: 6:00am 12:00pm, 4:00pm 10:00pm, 11:00am 5:00pm, 12:00pm 6:00pm, 6:00pm 12:00am, 7:00am 1:00pm, 8:00am 2:00pm, 9:00am 3:00pm, approximately 36 hours per week with some occasional overtime during busy times. Weekend, holiday, and night work will be required. Must be available to work all shifts.
