Job description
Job duties include the operation of various farm equipment to till soil, plant, spray, fertilize, harvest, and transport product to the elevator or grain storage area. Equipment that employees will operate includes but is not limited to tractors, sprayers, combine, semi trucks, farm trucks, backhoe, bulldozer, and grain carts. Duties include manual labor such as laying, maintaining and removing irrigation piping; sweeping grain bins; performing upkeep on and around the farm shop, and equipment areas; lifting parts when necessary; shoveling grain bins; and mechanical repair and maintenance of farm equipment. Employees must have or be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire; have 3 months of experience; and basic English literacy, reading, and math skills. Increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.
Special Requirements
Drug testing may be done post hire at the employer's expense to ensure safety on and around the worksite. Employees must be able to lift 50 pounds, will be stooping and bending over when laying poly pipe, and repetitive movements when shoveling grain when needed.
