Job description
Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest vegetables,. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Duties may include tilling soil and applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops; applying general use pesticides or restricted use pesticides under the direct supervision of a certified applicator; or cleaning, grading, sorting, packing, and loading harvested products. May construct trellises, repair fences and farm buildings, or participate in irrigation activities. Be able to use a tractor with a loader and drive cargo trucks. Class D license needed to drive pickup trucks and cargo 18' trucks for farming activities such as moving equipment, supplies, and crops harvested. 50 pound lifting requirement to be able to lift bags of fertilizer, boxes of produce, and tools and implements as needed. 1 month experience required in the duties listed.
