Job description

Latham Farms is a 25-acre vegetable farm. The farm is located in Elizabethton, Carter County, Tennessee. We grow green peppers, squash, zucchini, and tomatoes. Produce is planted, harvested, and loaded onto trucks in the field and transported to wholesaler to be sold at market. We need seasonal employees to assist with all aspects of growing these crops. Planting seeds, by hand and/or machine, transplanting plants by hand/or machine, weeding and pruning plants by hand, stringing tomato and pepper plants by hand. During harvest, workers will harvest crops, picking vegetables in buckets or crates and loading them onto a truck to be shipped. Packing vegetables in boxes, lifting them to be loaded onto trucks. Workers must comply with USDA GAP protocols and notify employer of any contamination or breach in protocols. Workers will be trained in USDA GAP protocols. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires extensive walking, repetitive movements, frequent stooping and exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures. Requires 3 months experience.
