Job description

Perform duties on a farm for a farm like: Drive and operate harvesting machines on clients’ farms. Typical harvest equipment may include: large and small square balers, self propelled windrowers, pull type windrowers, rotary rakes, tractors, and telehandlers. Drive heavy trucks to transport hay and straw to farms or storage areas on the farms. Drive transporter trucks to haul harvesting machinery between work sites. Service machinery and make incidental in-field repairs. Between harvest jobs will be working on equipment to prepare for upcoming harvest jobs. Will also be rebaling large bales into small square bales at the main farm location.

Special Requirements

No minimum education required. Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving heavy equipment and driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Extensive pushing or pulling is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
