Job description

Prepare fields for cultivation, planting and harvesting of sugarcane; minor maintenance and operation of farm equipment; farm, field and shed sanitation duties; drainage of fields and headlands (chopping, repairing, maintaining headlands); prepare for grinding; tractor work; shovel work; pulling weeds by hand; worker will walk, stoop, bend, reach and/or kneel repetitively for prolonged periods of time; will lift up to 50 lbs.; exposure to extreme temps.; random drug screening upon hire (paid by employer); 3 months previous work experience required in similar occupation. Overtime may be offered. Base hours offered is 40 hours offered; overtime hours are usually offered during plentiful season and may include an additional 10-40 hours of overtime work depending on the nature of the season; higher wage may be paid based on experience. Performance bonus may be offered at the end of the season based on profitability of season and discretion of employer. Hours are M-F 7:00 AM - 2:00PM; Saturday, 7:00AM - 12:00PM.

Employer, M.A. Patout & Son, Limited, LLC, requires that all employees be
drug tested, upon hire, and at employers expense, as is reflected on Employers job order.
Employers job duties state that employees will perform minor maintenance and operation of farm
equipment, as well as perform tractor work. Employer feels that conducting drug testing is a
practice that makes sense in many ways. Because of the close proximity to large farm equipment,
employees must be reminded that drug use will not be tolerated and performing these tests protects
the safety of everyone on the farm.
Employer does not perform drug testing pre-hire.
Random drug screening is conducted post-hire at employers expense.
