Temporary Seasonal Position: Farm Workers | SOC Code: 45-2092
All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described & must be available for entire period.
NJ Gomeza Farms, Ontario, OR, Malheur
Possible shift: 7:00AM-6:00PM. + May be possibility of weekend work. Crops: Beans, Corn, Alfalfa, Onions, Potatoes, Wheat. Duties may include: use farm equipment to cultivate and till soil, plant and fertilize as necessary. Connect and align pipes and fitting for water distribution. Operate pumps and valves to control water flow, disassemble pipes for relocation when needed. Observe sprinklers for correct watering locations. Maintain and repair pumps, and related equipment. Harvest crops when ready, and transport to market, or related storage facilities. Maintain equipment during regular use & other related Farm Workers activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). Must have 3 months Drip/Tube Irrigation/Farm Equipment Maintenance exp. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. Tools supplies and equipment provided at no cost to worker. Employer guarantees 3/4 of contract. Work outdoors, exposed to weather, hot or cold; hours may vary (+/-); possible downtimes and/or extended hours. Dependable: fulfill obligations. Attn. to detail: complete work tasks. Employer provided housing available to those who cannot reasonably return to their residence within the same day. No cell phone use during work hours.
