Job description

Performs a variety of tasks under supervision in agricultural crop production, including the
production and harvesting of cotton, wheat and / or triticale. Primary tasks include all
aspects of cultivating, planting, irrigation, chemical application, and harvesting cotton,
wheat and triticale. Operates farm equipment as necessary for agricultural crop production,
including but not limited to operating tractors, guidance systems, self-propelled sprayers,
plows, and all farm implements associated with agricultural crop production for cotton,
wheat and triticale. Operates the John Deere Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products
with little to no guidance or supervision. Operates and maintains irrigation systems,
including center-pivot irrigation systems and sub-surface drip tape irrigation systems.

Performs equipment inspection to ensure proper functioning and maintenance when necessary. Performs field inspections to determine maturity dates of crops or estimate potential crop damage from weather. May load and unload trucks, install irrigation equipment and clean equipment. May perform general tasks related to agricultural crop production when work in the field is not available.

Workers must be prepared to work outdoors in cold and hot weather. Work will take place when the temperatures exceed 100 degrees F. Work may take place when the temperatures fall below 32 degrees F. Workers will be expected to work in light snow / ice and rain. Workers should be able to work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Workers should also be able to work sitting down for long periods of time. Workers will assist in loading trucks with product weighing up to and including 60 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet. Work may require repetitive movements. Allergies to ragweed, wheat, insect spray, related chemicals, etc. may affect workers ability to perform the job. Workers should be physically able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations. Saturday work required. Must be able to lift / carry 60 pounds.

Work may also include mechanized field work using power equipment. By way of example and not limitation, power equipment may include tractors, planters, sprayers, cultivators, and other equipment. Workers will be expected to be able to operate agricultural equipment with or without direction.

Employer assures that workers will be provided transportation from living quarters to work site every day (for workers who must be provided housing under the applicable regulations).

Special Requirements

Workers must be able to perform manual as well as mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency, including but not limited to proficiency in John Deere AMS. Worker must also be able and willing to operate a tractor and farming implements (including but not limited to self propelled sprayers, plows and other implements associated with commodity production and harvesting), maintain and operate center-pivot irrigation and sub-surface drip tape irrigation, and build and / or maintain fencing associated with commodity production and harvesting.
