Job description

The employees will be planting, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, and packing in our vegetable/melon fields. They will be using a hoe to plan transplant seedlings They will be packaging melons into large bins by hand. Employees must be able to lift 55 lbs over their heads and bend over for long periods of time. There will be an exception for lifting for 3 specific positions needed for planting small seeds. Employees must be able to pass drug test but it is not of the interview process and will be done at the expense of the employer.
There will be no drinking of alcohol or drug use while employed. The duties are broken down as followed: Planting: Will take place in a greenhouse in a standing position for long periods of time. Placing small seeds into dirt filled trays and distributing trays in greenhouse. Transplanting: take trays of plants off wagon, sit on transplanter and hand plant into pre-dug holes in ground. Loading of trays on the wagons and pre-digging holes will be done by employees. Weeding: Walk down each row and hand pull weeds from around the
plant or use a hoe alongside the row. Harvesting: Pick melons from ground, toss through the line of workers to wagon. Packaging: Grab melon/vegetable off conveyor and place in bin/box. Place full boxes on pallets. A supervisor will be in charge to make sure tasks are being done correctly. Other field labor activities may be required.
