Job description

Tomato Harvest Farmworker: This position is focused on the harvesting tomatoes. Physical Requirements: Tolerate hot and mild temperatures for 6-8 hours a day. Comply with requirements for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and clothing . Workers must wear pants, shirts with sleeves (short or long), shoes or boots (no sandals) and no jewelry, except for a plain wedding band or medical bracelet. Work in outdoor environment, including tolerance for pests, weeds, grasses and allergens. Repetitively lift and carry bucket of tomatoes up to 40 lbs. throughout the workday and hand to dumpers on top of the trucks. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, stretch, crouch and squat for long periods of time while using best practices to maintain strong long term personal health. Demonstrate sufficient dexterity of hands, arms and fingers to be able to perform the principal responsibilities of the job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Be responsible to arrive at the bus sites on time as instructed every work day. Bring the company ID to scan in and out in order to accurately get paid. Must be able to follow work instructions and proper safety procedures. Understand and adhere to all company safety rules, policies and food safety practices. Wash your own bucket and stack it on the blue bucket on the bus floor. Get one pair at a time of required gloves from the company every day as needed. Line up to draw your assigned row from a deck of cards. Enter the harvest block after units are in position as directed by the supervisors. Pick the right size and color allowed with no stems only removed by hand. Harvesters are not allowed to pump or shake buckets during harvest. Count your own tickets at the end of activities and/or each work day. Perform all other harvest duties as assigned by supervisors.
