Job description
Mechanical Job Description:The pre-season and harvest repairs and maintenance tasks will be done to machinery during the growing and harvest seasons. All the machines and equipment will go through a thorough inspection, service, and repair process. Each machine will have a manufacturer's annual maintenance procedure that needs to be followed to ensure proper operation of the equipment during the work season. This seasonal work process will include the disassembly and reassembly of major components for replacement of bearings, lubricants, filters, parts, worn components, surfacing and welding of cracks. Cleaning of each machine must be done prior to any maintenance work. The work will include heavy lifting of machine parts and holding them in place during reassembly. The worker must be able to handle complex tasks that require logical thought, care, paying attention to details. Must be able to drive to town to get parts for the equipment.

List of equipment: 9 tractors, 30 potato trucks, 4 dump trucks, 2 augers, 17 pilers and 11conveyors, 4 harvesters, 7 diggers/windrowers, 1 evenflow, and 4 sizers for potato harvest, 2 grain drills and packers, 1 seed cutter, 8 work vehicles, 5 scoopies, 1 forklift, 3 skid-loaders/bobcats, miscellaneous small items
Special Requirements
Minimum of 12 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to the presence of children and expensive tools and equipment on the farm. Failure to pass criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Repetitive movements is required. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
