Job description
Bus drivers/supervisors will pick up workers, take them to worksite, walk field, supervise workers, and drive them back to their housing. They are required to live in the housing provided by the employer and take workers once a week to the bank, Walmart and to the laundry mat. Must have or be able to obtain immediately a farm labor contractor license. Background check and random drug testing will be post hire at employers' expense.
Any crew leader (farm labor contractor) employed under this job order must have a valid state and federal Farm Labor Contractor Certificate of Registration and must abide by all the requirements of the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act (MSPA). The employer understands that they are responsible for assuring that all conditions of this agreement are met regardless of any acts or omissions of the crew leader and will negotiate all crew leader fees directly with the crew leader.
Sanitation Requirements: For food and general safety purposes, all workers will be required and expected to follow common sanitary practices at all times. This is particularly critical when working in agricultural crops for human consumption. Employees are required to cleanse their hands by washing them thoroughly with soap and water after using the bathroom and before entering the fields. All workers must report all injuries, illnesses, and/or disease. Workers shall report immediately any cuts or abrasions that cause open bleeding. No tobacco, food, gum, candy, drink (other than water) or medication is allowed while working in the field. No jewelry, watches or fingernails longer than 1/8 inch are allowed. No open toe shoes or sandals are permitted. Glass bottles, drinking glasses, or any item made from glass are prohibited in the field. Improper hygiene will not be tolerated. Throw used bathroom tissue into the toilet every time, then flush the toilet. Keep restrooms, rest areas and portable facilities in the field clean for others.
Special Requirements
Bus driver requirements:
CDL Class A driver's license with passenger endorsement
1 year of experience driving a school bus (verifiable)
FLC or FLCE registration card with driving authorization
Florida state crewleader license with driving authorization
Medical exam certificate
Microsoft Excel skills or knowledge
Ability to communicate with field harvesters in their spoken language
The Employer has a drug-free workplace program. Background check and random drug testing will be post hire at employer's expense. Drug testing may be done post-accident and for cases with valid reasons for suspicion at the employer's expense.
