Job description

Workers will perform various duties assisted with installing and erecting a new Green House. Workers will install hoops, which can include but not limited to connecting steel bows, pounding and leveling posts, and using plastic and other durable material for covers. Workers will use electrical hand tools such as drills, impact drivers, hammer drills, electric screw driver, saws, welding machine, sanders, etc.
Properly trained workers will be required to operate farm equipment. Farm equipment may consist of tractors, backhoes and bulldozers. Workers must take great care to ensure the safety of other workers, other equipment, themselves, trees, and the land. Workers must follow employer’s instructions to ensure safety procedures are followed. Once the land is cleared workers may run field rows and may install the irrigation systems.
Workers will be required to assist in preparing the land for the construction of the greenhouse.
Employee must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds frequently. Employees will be required to walk stand, kneel, stoop, and bend extensively. Employees must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions, including rain, cold, heat, and high winds. Employees must be able to work in temperatures that can range from 30 degrees.
Fahrenheit to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the time of employment. Work is performed based on weather temperatures, employees must be able to work in the day, evening, or nights. Employees will be exposed to dusty conditions, exposed to mud, and other natural elements. This work may entail exposure to plant pollens, insects, and noxious plants. At times, the fields and crops will be treated with insect and/or disease control sprays, employees will be required to abide by the Worker Protection Standards and re-entry times.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3 months of experience working on a commercial farm
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

GENERAL CONDITIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL DUTIES: Work begins at assigned time usually shortly after daylight. Work is performed during light rain and in high humidity and in temperatures ranging from 100 (+) degrees to 35 degrees F. Workers will work on their feet in bent, stooped, and crouched positions for long periods of time. Workers will make fast, simple, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists. Workers must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs. Workers will use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects, such as potted plants. Workers will frequently lift 75 lbs. Workers will supply their own work clothes. All the tasks in this Job Description constitute one (1) job; the employer may assign workers to different tasks on any day or to multiple tasks during the same day in the sole judgment of the employer. Workers may be required to perform work on the farm that is incidental working on vehicles and equipment. This is a very demanding and competitive business in which quality specifications must be rigorously adhered to. Sloppy work cannot and will not be tolerated.
The employer retains the right to discharge an obviously unqualified worker, malingerer or recalcitrant worker who is physically able to but does not demonstrate the willingness to perform the work necessary for the employer to grow a premium quality product.

During certain duties, workers may be required to work in teams to accomplish a certain task. When engaged in teamwork activities workers must coordinate with other members of the team to accomplish the task.

Special Requirements

Must have three months experience harvesting crops on commercial farm. Must be at least 18 years old, and legally authorized to work in the US. Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time. Workers are subject to random drug testing at no cost to the employee. All drug testing will occur after the worker begins his or her employment and is not a part of the interview process. Failing or refusing a drug test will result in immediate termination.
