Job description

All other duties assigned under this order will be those duties of Farm Worker, Diversified Crops, under the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics Standard Occupational Classification Code 45-2092.

Specific Job Requirements:
General Farm Labor Work and Weeding
This will include the following responsibilities: remove undesirable and excess growth from crops or farm grounds; perform general cleanup of farm areas. Weeding will include using farm hand tool to remove weeds from onion fields, pepper fields and
hop fields, hop fields, alfalfa seed fields, corn fields and wheat fields. May be asked to drive company owned vehicles from hop, pepper and onion fields to hop picker facility, packing shed or storage locations.

Irrigation Job Description:
Will install and operate drip and pivot irrigation systems. Will prime and start electrical and diesel irrigation pumps. Will input irrigation schedules in drip irrigation controllers. Identify problems and report to supervisor (electrical short, nonfunctioning
valves, identify out of specified pressures in station and fields). Read pressure gauges and set valves at specified pressures. Will read instructions to apply chemical and fertilizer injections through drip and pivot irrigation systems. Will monitor, identify
and fix leaks in drip irrigation systems.

Irrigation Requirements:
•Ability to drive
•Ability to read and write English/Spanish
•Basic Math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide Physical strength to lift containers that weight up to 60 pounds.

Onions, Peppers, Alfalfa Seed, Corn and Wheat Job Description
Will apply techniques as instructed by the employer when carrying out the following responsibilities related to the hand harvesting of onions; clip ends off onions and toss the tops back into the field; hand harvest onions; place in bags and lay in field to mature; gather bags of onions off the fields and dump them into bins; sorting sacks after harvest; removing clods from harvester.
Planting and Weeding Pepper, Onions , Alfalfa Seed, Corn and Wheat fields. Topping and tailing onions. Field Packing into bags, buckets, or bins.
Harvesting, picking peppers and field packing into bins or trays.
Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production and field preparation such as tractors, irrigation equipment and other commonly used equipment in agriculture.
Drive vehicles to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers.

Special Requirements

Number of Workers Needed: 28

The number of workers needed represents the estimated shortage of domestic workers, and therefore the number of foreign workers the Employer anticipates will be needed. The Employer will hire all able, willing, and qualified domestic workers through the 50% point
of the contract period and therefore the number of foreign workers hired could be substantially fewer than listed.
