Job description
Complete detailed component inspections and reporting on findings. Perform basic fiberglass repairs on wind turbine blades, nacelles and nose cones. Read and follow work instructions, blade schematics and layup schedules. Use of tools typical of the fiberglass repair trade. Calculate mixing ratios and curing times of composite repair materials. Lift, push, pull and carry items up to 50 lbs. in weight. Stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time. Grip and manually manipulate, often with repetitive motion, items such as hand tools, turbine parts. Work in confined spaces and at heights over 100 meters.
Special Requirements
GWO (Global Wind Organization) BST - Basic Safety Training Certification. GWO (Global Wind Organization). ART Advanced Rescue Training. Valid Driver's License.
24 months of wind industry experience working with epoxies, polyesters, or gel coats. Demonstrated use and understanding of intermediate level of power tools. Wind industry experience working with epoxies, polyesters, or gel coats.
