Job description
The job of a wildlife capture helicopter pilot is extremely specialized. Job duties are flying a helicopter for helicopter net gun capture, chemical capture, coral capture, telemetry tracking and predator depredation.
Special Requirements
Helicopter Pilot License
The pilot must have a thorough knowledge of how to read and understand wildlife. This pilot must have worked with numerous species of wildlife in their various habitats. Due to the extreme flying conditions during capture, the pilot's flying ability has to be a high standard due to the concentration is required.
High School Diploma
24 months of training in wildlife capture
24 months experience in wildlife capture (5 month season = 5 years)
2500 hours wildlife capture experience, must include net gun, chemical and mass capture.
1000 hours high altitude experience
500 hours low level flight below 100 ft
Must have caught over 15 large game species species of wildlife
Rated in MD500D and R44 helicopters.
Must be able to lift 200 lbs.
Must be prepared to fly exclusively for Heliwild LLC. and sign a non compete company contract.
