Job description
Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store
grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Adjust speeds of
cutters, blowers and conveyors, and weight of cutting head, using hand tools. Change cutting
head as appropriate for crops. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment.
Drive and operate self-propelled combine. Service machinery and make in-field repairs. Drive
heavy trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Will sometimes be planting,
harvesting and performing other farm operations on farms other than the employer's farm.
ONLY if domestic help unavailable, on occasion may help move cattle to different pastures. Will
sometimes be planting, harvesting and performing other farm operations of farms other than
the employer's farm.
List of equipment: JD Tractors, JD Combines, JD Forage Harvester, JD Planters, Peterbilt
Silage Straight Trucks, Peterbilt Semis.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within
30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Wage rate may increase with
verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in
addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
