Job description

Workers will perform various duties associated with planting, cultivating, and harvesting corn.

Worker must possess the physical strength and endurance (ability to continue or last) to repeat the harvest process though out the workday, working quickly and skillfully to perform activities assigned during that activity. Workers must work at a sustained (continuing for an extended period of time without interruption), vigorous pace (quick and steady) and make bona fide efforts (made in earnest intent) to work efficiently (performing or functions in the best possible manner with the least waste of time and effort) and consistently (same way for a long time) that are reasonable under the climatic and other working conditions, Workers may not leave trash, or other discarded items in work areas or vehicles but must dispose of such items in provided receptacles. Workers must wash hands with soap and water after all bathroom and meal breaks. Allergies to varieties of ragweed, goldenrod, insecticides, related agricultural chemicals, etc., may affect worker’s ability to perform the work described herein.
Plant Operations:
Packaging Operator- Packaging Operators will work closely with the packaging supervisor and plant operations manager to ensure that seed packages meet customer’s requirements.
Responsibilities include:
• Performing work activities safely and in compliance with company QMS program
• Operating bagging equipment according to instructions
• Performing regular scale weight checks
• Ensuring proper set up of ink jet bag labeling equipment
• Ensuring that bag labels are accurate, near, legible and professional in appearance
• Application of appropriate tags and/or labels to seed packages
• Accurate bagged seed inventory counts
• Thorough cleaning of all equipment in order to maintain product integrity
• Ensuring that seed pallets are neatly stacked and securely wrapped prior to placement in the warehouse
• Assisting with maintenance activities

Rebag Operator- Rebag Operators work closely with the Rebag Supervisor to meet customers quality and packaging requirements during repackaging processes.
Responsibilities include:
• Performing work activities safely and in compliance with company QMS program
• Verifying the contents of each bag of seed prior to dumping
• Operating bagging equipment according to instructions
• Performing regular scale weight checks
• Ensuring proper set up of ink jet bag labeling equipment
• Ensuring that bag labels are accurate, near, legible and professional in appearance
• Application of appropriate tags and/or labels to seed packages
• Accurate bagged seed inventory counts
• Thorough cleaning of all equipment in order to maintain product integrity
• Ensuring that seed pallets are neatly stacked and securely wrapped prior to placement in the warehouse
• Assisting with maintenance activities
• Maintaining a neat, clean, and organized work area.

Warehouse Operator - Warehouse operators work closely with the warehouse supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction by accurately storing and shipping seed inventory to customers.
Responsibilities include:
• Performing work activities safely and in compliance with company QMS program
• Ensuring accurate inventory counts when shipping or receiving seed into the warehouse
• Accurate completion of all shipping paperwork
• Ensuring that shipments are ready for loading based on customer requests
• Maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse
• Accurately recording ALL row location information within RIC
• Assisting with building and/or forklift maintenance as requested.
• Maintaining a neat, clean, and organized work area.

Special Requirements

Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time. Workers may be subject to random drug testing at no cost to the employee. All drug testing will occur after the worker begins his or her employment and is not a part of the interview process. Failing or refusing a drug test will result in immediate termination.
